Myrtle Beach

This past week we traveled to Myrtle Beach for our Family Vacation with My parents!  We had a amazing time as always! This year was Myrtle Beach, last year was Hilton Head.  They both were tons of fun but I think we love Hilton Head more! We had great weather until the last day when it rained but we were able to play at a fun zone type place which Soley had a blast doing!  We drove down and Soley did amazing! She is really the best traveler! She does better then me! My parents best friends also join us on this trip which worked out perfect because they brought 2 of their grandchildren who were 6 and 8, and Soley loved them! Soley really only plays with older children, she could care less about playing with kids her age, but anyone over 5 she does great with! My mom's best friend was our OBGYN so it's always nice to see her and her husband!

Soley playing on the beach with my dad!

Before we left Soley and I got our nails done, matching with flowers! She loved it! Soley loves matching things!

Soley and Isaiah building a drizzle castle! Isaiah and Ella Joy were two of the most well behaved children I have ever seen!

Doing Sparklers

Playing the ipad with Poppi!

Playing Put Putt at our Resort! She loves put putt!

Her First Doughnut ever! A Krispy Kreme! YUMMY!

My One edited picture, did not have time to do the others, Jon and Soley on the beach! They look so much alike! What a amazing daddy he is!

Another trip down in the books! Now we are home for a while! We have a semi light week ahead of us, Soley starts ballet up this week and we have orientation for preschool! Soley will start preschool two days a week coming up soon.  I actually don't think that she is going to do it and have prepared my self that we are going to be taking a large monetary loss, but we are okay with it.  I don't want to force her to go but want to give her the opportunity.  The preschool that we choose is amazing! We have known countless families from our church and friends send their children there.  It's for 2 days a week and four hours each day.  One reason why we chose it was because the director has been there 30 years and all the staff has been there a minimum of 8 years! Yes that is un heard of! They also cater to moms like me! They have a car pool but allow you to drop off and pick up if you wish.  They are very strict with a zero policy on behavior, which I love! The first two weeks they have a room for moms or dads who want to stay while their children are at class in case their children have a hard time adjusting! So we will just have to wait and see! I don't see Soley letting me leave the classroom so I don't beleive that she will actually do it but I hope she does like it!

Bentley...

Most of my posts on this old blog of mine are pretty happy but that's not always how life goes.  Many of you know that we have had bentley for 8 years.  At times his shedding and licking drove me crazy but he was the nicest sweetest dog that you would ever meet! All of the kids in our neighborhood loved him! I often would look outside and find the younger kids riding on top of Bentley while he was relaxing in our front yard. Over the past year Soley and Bentley have became best friends.  She would spend all of her time at the house playing with him, making him jump though hoops, and running outside.  Whenever we go away Soley cries, I mean cries, for him all week long.  They truly were best friends.  This past week while we were at the beach we got a call from Jon's best friends who were keeping him saying that he was not doing well.  To make a sad story less sad he passed away, and we are all completely heart broken.  Telling Soley was the hardest thing we have done as parents so far.  She cried for almost 2 hours straight, it broke our all ready grieving hearts.  It's crazy how much we as adults can get attached to animals, but a child it's a even deeper bond.

We love you Bentley!

The baby's room...

I'm not sure why we call it that, we don't actually know what the age of our new kid/kiddies will be but we do need a room ready.  This past weekend Jon painted the baby's room a light gray and it looks great! I have pink curtains up in the room because they are all that I have right now and look cute! I had originally purchased them for Soley's room but then changed to teal and red.  We plan to keep with the pink accent colors for a girl and yellow for a boy. We still need crib bumpers etc. but we will wait for all of that once we get a placement.  We are still waiting to be approved which seems like it's taking forever but I know God has a plan and I am trusting in his timing! Our friends that we met in our foster classes actually got there approval phone call last week, and within 24 hours of that call had two offers for sibling groups! So I'm thinking that once we do get approved it will be fast!!!!

A few other things from this week...

We went to Jon's hockey game this past weekend, and Soley looked to cute, leg warmers and all!

Love the fur! She looks so much like Jon below!

Our neighbors tore down their deck and put in a very nice patio, and lined their yard with trees, looks great, and the tree line will help sell our house!

I have been doing boot camp with my friend Elizabeth and it's horrible! I can barley walk but I am getting in great shape! I have already lost a few pounds.  We have to get up at 4:50 and be there for a hour so it's been hard adjusting but it will pay off.  Anyways on the way home around 6:45 this is what I saw driving home.  All I could think is, God is amazing.  It was so pretty.  Now if I could get my kid in bed before 11pm that would also be amazing!  I think god is preparing us for a sibling group and I have already gone 3 years with out sleep what's a little more!

Soley's New Room

We originally joined the YMCA this summer and their outdoor pool and that was going to be our plan for the summer but after a few days at the outdoor pool I soon realized that it was not for us. It was SO crowded and JCPS kids were not even out of school yet! It was like crazy over there! As for the indoor Y at Norton Commons it was great but was to expensive to just use the indoor pool! So needless to say there is a 30 day money back guarantee and we used it! So since we were going to be gone 4 weeks out of the summer I decide not to join our pool in our neighborhood and use the money to get Soley a new bed, sheets, comforted and some other stuff for her room. And I'm so glad I did!

Big News :)

So the big news in the Harbridge house is that we closed yesterday on our new land! Yes we are taking the plunge and building our first house.  But it gets better. We actually closed on the land with my parents... We have two lots side by side. The lots are completely flat and treed. We will build on one lot and my parents on the other.  Each lot is a little over a acre. We have all been looking for some land for quite some time now and found this property in pewee valley and could not pass it up. So we have a ton of work ahead of our self! We still have work to do on our house to sell it and will have to sell it and move either in with my parents for a year or a apartment. Lucky for us we have the best realtor in town. ( Jon :). So that's the news in the Harbridge house. We are very excited but know there is tons of work coming our way.

All of us in front of the 2 lots.

Our soon to be new neighbors. They have been so sweet to us.

The lots actually sit far back in the neighborhood so this easement is shared between the neighbors and we will extend it back to our properties. You will not be able to see our houses from the street it will be in the neighborhood but also not really. Will keep everyone updated it will be a while!

SURPRISE!!!

So little did my best friend know that she was about to get the surprise of her life! A few months ago I texted my best friends husband to talk to him about possibly coming down to Florida to visit them and Surprise his wife Ilana.  Steve, Ilana and Olivia (3 weeks older the Soley) moved to Florida this past December for Steve's Job, and before that we hung out at least 4 times a week! So you can imagine that we really miss them!  So Steve and I planned this trip with out Ilana knowing! Steve is one of the most generous people that I know, he flew me and Soley down there to surprise his wife for their anniversary.  Ilana just had her second child 9 weeks ago Grayson and you can imagine it's been hard moving and having a baby all at once.  So Soley and I packed our bags after being back from Canada exactly 7 days and headed to Florida.  The trip getting there was pretty crazy. We had two flights one from Ky to ATL and ATL to Orlando.  Our first flight was delayed about 40 min causing us to barley make our connection and once we did board the plane our plane had engine trouble while we were on the runway and we sat there for 1.5 hours and then had to get off.  We then went back into the airport and waited about a hour for another plane and finally got on that and right before we were to take off another engine light!!! So we sat on the runway for another hour and they were able to fix it and we finally took off and made it.  So even with being 4 hours late we still were able to pull of the surprise.  And much to my surprise Soley is the best little traveler, not ever a issue!  So check out this video below, it was priceless!

Soley Ready to board the plane in KY!

On the first flight watching her ipad!

The night we got there.  I brought matching P.J's for the girls, so cute!

The girls playing with Shaving cream in the shower, so much fun!

Overall it was a AMAZING trip. Jon also was able to join us for the last 4 days, it was so much fun having us all down there together, like old times. We were gone for 10 days and I think that it was a little too long, but I am glad that we got to see them! We really do miss them and wish we lived closer.  The girls had so much fun, but by the 8th day they were each ready to have their space back, but I think we can all understand that.   While we were there we went to the pool, water parks, bounce places and so much more! A huge thanks to the Pirrone's for a AMAZING 10 days.  We can't wait to have you stay with us in October! See you then!

So believe it or not we are only home for a little bit and then we head to the beach with my parents! I am really looking forward to my time at home, and also our trip to the beach! Who does not love the beach!

P.S. I got a email back from our social worker today.  Our papers were submitted in June and we are still waiting for approval. She said it would probably be a few more weeks.  So exciting! Other big news coming soon...
