Heart Beat

We went to the doctor last Wednesday and Jon and I were able to see our baby's heart beating.  It is amazing how God has designed everything.  We will not be going back to the doctor until the day before Thanksgiving. From here on out we will be going every four weeks until we get close to the delivery date.

I have been begging Jon to let me buy something since we found out we were pregnant.  He finally broke today and gave in.  I have been looking for some type of lovey for the baby to have to sleep with.  I found these today at a christian bookstore, they are so cute!  They have a scripture on them, it's hard to see it in the pictures but it says:
"Your love O LORD reaches to the heavens."  Psalm 36:5

Of course we will not find out the sex until Jan 20th. (18 weeks)  so I had to buy two!

Second Doctor visit

So you can finally see something!   It's crazy how one week makes a huge difference.  In the picture below you can see the baby's sac, and inside that there is another circle that is the baby!  Yes... just one baby :)

Our First Trip to the doctor

Our doctor did an ultrasound to try and find out where we were in our pregnancy.  She was guessing 4 & 1/2 weeks, that was on 10/12/09. (based on the dot that I can't see, maybe you can)  I have another appointment tomorrow, hopefully she will be able to see something so that we can really know how far along we are.

Is there a such thing as a false positive?

This week started out like most of my work weeks, but little did I know it was about to be very different.  I didn't plan on being pregnant this week, but I had three different people ask me "Are you pregnant?"   So I thought, maybe I should take a test.

Occasion 1:  I forgot about a Little Techie appointment that I had with a friend of mine. She asked me "are you pregnant?"  I said, "no why?"  She then proceeded to say that when she was pregnant with her daughter she was always forgetting things.  I told her no way.

Occasion 2:  We were at our bible study and I was walking up the stairs and I said out loud, "my jeans feel tighter."  A friend of mine smiled, and said, "are you pregnant?"  I told her no way.

Occasion 3:  We were out to dinner with Jon's parents and the waiter brought out some bread, I asked Steve if they could keep it on there side of the table because the smell was making me sick.  Karen then asked me, "are you pregnant?"  I laughed and said no way!

Karen was making me my birthday dinner that same night, so I snuck up stairs and took a pregnancy test...

So.... I guess what I am getting at.... THERE ARE NO FALSE POSITIVES
